"Water" -- CAS273

"Water" is the CAS challenge today at SCS. WOW! There are so many possibilities. About a year ago, I case'd a card using the SU Build-A-Blossom stamp set to make an underwater scene. I decided to give it a try today and make another card based on the same card. Here is a link to the original card that I case'd -- 3 Little Fishes.

I love the idea of using my stamps and punches in unique ways. These two stamps from SU Build-A-Blossom stamp set does just that. Flower petals turned into little fish. I used SU Calypso Coral ink for the fish, SU Pool Party ink for the plants and SU Sky Blue to sponge the background. I layered the image onto Calypso Coral card stock, then onto white card stock. That was then attached to SU Pool Party card stock which was the base of my card.

Monday Again

It's Monday--again. A new week has begun. A new week with new challenges. The first one I always look forward to is the "Clean and Simple" (CAS) challenge at SCS. This week it was to CASE a card from the gallery of Loll Thompson. She has made so many beautiful cards that I found it difficult to choose just one. Actually, I used two as my inspiration. This is a link  the first one and this is a link to the second one. I loved the little hydrangea flowers on the first card and I loved the vine effect on the second one, so I tried to put the two together. The flourish stamp is from Rubbernecker Stamps and is stamped in SU Old Olive ink. The sentiment is from the Sweet 'n Sassy Stamp set "Faith". I love that set and have used it often since purchasing it last August (2013). I used the Martha Stewart hydrangea punch for the flowers. After finishing the card, I put it in the mail to a friend whose birthday is today. I'm a little late but sometimes that just happens before I know it.

CAS233 at Splitcoast Stampers

Today for the CAS challenge, we were to use the gallery of "kshelly" as inspiration. Harriet has such beautiful cards in her gallery. This is the one I chose--

The image is a Rubbernecker Stamp colored with SU markers--Marina Mist, So Saffron and Old Olive. I used SU Marina Mist card stock for the accent color.
