Today's Challenge--Create A Birthday Card

It’s time for a new challenge from Cornish Heritage Farms. The challenge this week is to create a birthday card and our hostess is Lisa Silver. I am always in the need of one more birthday card. For my card today I used the Cornish Heritage Farms birdhouse digital stamp and a greeting image. The image was colored with copic markers, matted on deep yellow card stock and then on Kraft Card stock. The card base is also the Kraft card stock. The designer paper is from Heidi Grace Designs and was sponged with Antique Linen Distress Ink.

Stamp Club Meeting

Most of June was spent in Tennessee helping my brother and sister-in-law close up our parents home of 60+ years. It was a very emotional time for me. It is good to be back home.

On Thursday, June 28. a group of friends met at my house to learn "tea bag folding". Judie had put together supplies for each lady and did a great job teaching this art. It is always so much fun to learn something new with friends who also enjoy playing with paper. Here a couple of samples of what we did.

CHF Challenge # 3--Pearls and Lace

It is time for the third Cornish Heritage Farms Challenge. The theme for this challenge is "Pearls and Lace" and our hostess is Cindy Haffner. Hope you will be able to play along. For all the details go to the Cornish Heritage Farms Blog.

Now I would like to share the cards I made for this challenge. My card uses the digital image from the Cornish Heritage Farms website called Lily Digital Stamp. It was printed, cut out using a Nestibilities Oval and sponged with Memento Black Ink before removing the image from the cutting die. I found the lace in my sewing cabinet, added some black ribbon over the top edge and finished it off the self-sticking pearls.

Of course, I had to make a second card using different colors. I recolored the image to match  the SU color Rose Red before printing it out. I then sponged SU Rose Red ink around the edges before removing it out of the die. The card stock (SU Rose Red) was dry embossed on about two-thirds of the front panel. Again I covered the top edge of the lace with ribbon and added self-sticking pearls. I hope you enjoy our third challenge.

Challenge # 2--Just for Baby

It's time for Challenge # 2 at Cornish Heritages Farms. Today's challenge is "Just For Baby" and our hostess is Barbara Bruder. For my card I used one of the digital images. Using my computer, I added the words to the balloons and the sentiment "welcome" at the bottom.  I used circle nestibilities to cut out the imagine. and I used the large dots background stamp inked with versa mark to create the background paper. I could not stop with one card. I enlarged the image until I could use just the little bear's face. I cut it out with a circle die and created a baby's birthday card. The birthday sentiment was created on the computer. I find myself doing that a lot when I need a special size or something done a special way.

God's Beauty

“God’s Beauty”, a retired Stampin’ Up set, is one of my favorites. I never tire of using it. The flowers and butterfly were colored with copics and then cut out. I have made several of these cards in the past few days for birthday cards for special friends.

First Cornish Heritage Farms Challenge

Welcome to the Cornish Heritage Farms Design Team's first challenge. Frances is hostess and the challenge for today is -- "Anything Goes". Here is my card. I love using this background stamp and the "Time To Stamp" set. And I love the color combination of yellow and brown. Mother's Day Special

Don and I spent a wonderful afternoon with our daughter, Angela, and her husband, David, and grandkids, Sarah and Stephen. Daniel, Janet, and grandkids, Alex, Chloe, and Maddie sent beautiful flowers. I am so blessed.

And this is the card I made for Angela.

Working With A Digital Stamp

I want to show how I sometimes take a digital sentiment and create an image that fits the project that I am working on. I am using a digital image that is available from Cornish Heritage Farms.

 

No. 1-- Insert the desired image.
No. 2--The image was copied so I now have two images. The first one is cropped to only say "Happy". The second one is cropped to say "Anniversary".
No. 3--The two images are now arranged to achieve the desired look.

Pretty cool. Sometimes we do the same thing with rubber stamps by just inking up certain words before stamping.

CAS Today

It has really warmed up here in Michigan today. Time to get some yard work done. But there is still time to stamp. Right. Here is my next card to share with you. Very Simple. I sponged the diamond with Memento Desert Sand and stamped the image with Memento Rich Cocoa. I love the CAS look. The stamp is from Hero Arts and is called "Exotic Bloom".

Lost--Now Found

It seems I am always losing something. I was working on a card just before Easter. I got the card base finished and then I could not find the focal image that I had made. I kept telling myself, "It was right here just a moment ago." But it was gone. Looked in the waste basket. Not there. Looked on the floor. Not there. So I laid the card aside... It will show up--I hope. Days went by. Still I did not find my flower. It was so pretty.

Then one day when I was cleaning up my work space, there it was. It had gotten turned over and all I could see was the black (back) side of the rectangle. Thus the title "Lost--Now Found". The lily stamp is from "Our Daily Bread Designs".
