Here is my card for today's CAS challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. I used  a double sided paper that I have had on my shelf for several years.

SC431

Today’s sketch challenge is a really cool design. I was so excited to get started this morning when I saw the sketch.  Here is my card, but I am not sure that I like it. I think I need something different for the focal image.
I wanted to create a background using two of my large Impression Obsession  stamps. I used the strip across the middle to try to add some color. So many of my cards are monochromatic in color.
My card base is SU Island Indigo card stock. Then I stamped  Coredinations Robin card stock with Memento's Teal Zeal ink. Love this color of ink! For the focal image I used the SU stamp set “Fresh Vintage” stamped with the Memento's Teal Zeal on white card stock.

Mojo Monday 287

Finally! My card is finished. I tried to use some of the new paper I got last month and this is what I came up with. Love the colors.

This is what I used for my card:
Card base--SU Pool Party card stock
Two pieces of paper from SU Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper
Accent color-- Indigo Island card stock
Stamp set--Vintage Labels stamped with SU Rich Razzleberry ink

SC430

This is my card for this week's sketch challenge at SCS. I picked up several pieces of paper that were lying around my work area. With a little measuring and cropping, I soon had all the pieces for my card. It is so much fun to be able to use the little things that you have already made or cut out.

For the card base, I used SU Brocade Blue card stock. The other pieces were either in my scrap box or on my work table. Last month I got the Secret Garden stamp set. I was experimenting and made this flower last week. It was lying on my desk just waiting to be used. So much fun!

Beautiful Ballerina

As I have mentioned before, one of my dear friend's daughter, Linnea,  has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She is 37 years old, married with 3 children and expecting her 4th (a baby girl) this summer. She has been teaching dance for many years and about two years ago, she opened her own dance studio called "Grace School of Dance". She has directed several ballet performances that have been preformed during the worship services at our church.

Last Thursday evening I had a stamp club meeting at my home. The theme was "Create Your Own Designer Paper". More on that later. Judie brought this card that she had made for Linnea. We all had a chance to sign it before it was mailed. She used the technique called--iris folding. Judie created a beautiful card and I wanted to share it with you.

SC429

Another sketch challenge. I had fun doing this one. This week it just seemed like all the pieces fell in place very easily.

Stamp set--SU Serene Silhouettes
Ink--Midnight Muse
Paper--Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla, and designer paper from "Lost & Found3" by My Mind's Eye.

Hope you are having a great day!

SC428

It's Wednesday again and time for another sketch challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. I needed a thank you card so I thought I would go that direction. Here is my card. Most of the elements were pieces from my scrap box. I love it when that happens and I kept things very simple.

SC427

For today's sketch challenge at Splitcoast Stampers I made a card that will be sent to one of my best friend's daughter. This is a young wife and mother with three children who found out just a couple of months ago that she was pregnant and that she has breast cancer. We have been holding her up in prayer.

Last week I came across this poem which I found so inspiring. I hope that it will be encouraging to the one who receives it.

Cancer is so limited....
It cannot cripple love.
It cannot shatter hope.
It cannot corrode faith.
It cannot destroy confidence.
It cannot kill friendship.
It cannot shut out memories.
It cannot reduce eternal life.
It cannot quench the spirit.

CAS211--Sketch

The Splitcoast Stampers CAS challenge for this week was to make a card following a sketch that was given.

Simple!   Right!

Well, not this time. I started out with one idea, made a few mistakes and ended up with this card. The "Lovely As A Tree" SU set is one of my favorites. I used SU Brocade Blue card stock for my base and SU Brocade Blue ink for the words and the sponging.

Alex's Birthday

Our grandson, Alex, had his seventeenth birthday February 21. He is becoming a "cool" young man. He is finishing up his junior year in high school. He is in the marching band and plays on the worship team at his church. He also works as a life guard at the YMCA in his home town. We don't get to see him very often but we sure do enjoy it when we do.

This was his birthday card that I made this year. Pretty cool.
