Wednesday again. I love to do the sketch challenge at Splitcoast Stampers on Wednesday when I have a chance. So----------

Today's sketch

My card

I stamped the image onto watercolor paper with VersaFine Black Onyx ink and heat embossed it using clear embossing powder. I used my distress ink markers and the aqua brush to add color to the image. For the card base I used a piece of Baja Breeze card stock. I still have a few sheets of this retired color and I still love it. I found the glitter paper at JoAnnn's this past week. It is by core'dinations and so easy to use.

For My Brother

My brother's birthday is in just a few days. I think that this is the first birthday card that I have gotten mailed on time. It turned out to be a simple card but one that I was pleased to mail.

Card base -- Pool Party card stock
Stamps -- Main Image "Moon Lake"
                 Happy Birthday from "Happiest Birthday Wishes"
                 Stars from "Big On Birthdays"
                 Inside greeting from "Botanicals For You"
Ink -- VersaFine Black Onyx embossed with clear embossing powder on watercolor paper and colored using distress markers and my aqua brush

Let Us Use Markers

I have been asked what is the difference between different brands of markers. I am not sure that I know how to answer that question. There are Stampin Up markers, Tombow markers, distress markers, Marvy markers and Memento markers -- just to name a few brands. All of these are water based markers.

I love coloring directly on my stamps with the Stampin' Up markers. I love the watercolor look I can get with my Tombow and Distress markers by Tim Holtz. The ink can be reactived by water when coloring directly to the watercolor paper. I love the way that these markers can be blended.

For the images below, I stamped each one with VersaFine Black Onyx ink and then heat embossed each with fine detail clear embossing powder on Canson 140# watercolor paper. Below each picture you will see a list of the colors that I used.
