Halloween Fun

I am not much into Halloween but my grandkids have looked forward to the event each year. I have made fun cards in the past and sent a treat (a few dollars) with their card. As they have gotten older I have not done it in a couple of years. I have one granddaughter going to college in California and her mother told me that Sarah was really into Halloween this year. So, I thought that maybe I could make a couple of mug rugs to send to her along with a card. Got the package in the mail this morning.

I really don't have much Halloween in my supplies, so I chose to go with a pumpkin theme. I made these pumpkins with the Swirly Bird dies and used the traditional black and orange color theme.

For the mug rugs, I purchased two quarter yard pieces of fabric, found some green and black in my scarp bin and made two. The finished size was about 6 x 10-inches. I was pleased with how they turned out. I hope she likes them. I just wanted Sarah to know that we love her and are praying for her each day. I hope these little mats will make her smile.

Halloween Cards 2015

About a month ago, I had to take a break from my card making. I was getting overwhelmed and burned out. I have been doing some quilting, and then my husband and I took a vacation. We went to Tennessee. We met my cousin and her husband in Pigeon Forge for the weekend. Faye and I had a chance to go to the Smoky Mountain Rubber Stamp and Scrapbook Getaway. The Show was small but that didn't stop us from having a good time. Then we went to Tullahoma to visit my brother and his wife. We also had a chance to visit with other family members.

Today I made a couple of Halloween cards. They were actually CASE'D from cards that I had seen on Pinterest.

CAS296 -- Halloween

This is my card for today's SplitCoast Stampers "clean and simple" challenge. There was a card that I found about a year ago on Pinterest that I was going to "CASE". This was a good day to do that. Here is a link to the original card that I found months ago. It is called "Happy Halloween Eyes". This is my version. The eyes are made using different size punches. I thought it was so cute.

Halloween

Halloween is not one of my favorite holidays, but I always try to send the grandkids a card with a treat inside. I try to create cards that have a fun theme to them. These are the cards that I made this year. Each card had a small envelope inside with a treat (a few dollars that they can use as they want). Two grandkids live 200 miles away and three live 300 miles away. Grandpa wanted to help so he came up with a "joke" for each card.

1. Why do spiders like computers?

 2. Why don’t witches wear a flat hat?

3. How fast can Ebony fly on his broom?
(Ebony is the name of our long-haired dachshund.)

4. What is the favorite dessert of these
Jack O’ Lanterns?
The answers--
1. They can use them to get on the Web!
2. Because there would be no point to it.
3. At the speed of hound!
4.  Boo-Berry Pie!
