CHF Challenge--Black, White and Your Color Choice

Its time for another Cornish Heritage Farms blog challenge--CHF06. Today's challenge hostess is Michele L. Michele has challenged us to use three colors--black and white with a third color (your choice). I love using black and white with lots of different colors. So which one did I want to use? Well, my choice was red. I used a digital image from the Cornish Heritage Farms store called "3 Chirstmas Kittens". I printed it twice with one image flipped horizontally. I colored only the kittens Christmas hats with a red copic marker, added a red layer of card stock and then a black layer. The sentiment was made on the computer, cut out and layered on black card stock. What a fun challenge--

Scrap Paper to Sunbrust

I saw instructions on how to make a "sunbrust card" using paper scraps on Splitcoast Stampers. This is so much fun and each card turns out very differently. I would like to share the cards that I have made using bits of paper from my scrapbox.

From My Desk

My desk seems to get covered with bits and pieces of "stuff". It is usually new things I have tried. Maybe its pieces that I cut out with dies that I did not use. Maybe they are from playing with a new toy. I find it exciting when I can make a card from that "stuff". Here is my card.

The leaves were cut from a Cheery Lyn Die that I got in May. The flower was made from a punch that a friend gave me. The white embossed paper was in my scrap box along with the black card stock used as a layer. The only thing that I had to cut new was the card base.

Hope you are have a great summer.

SC394--Pretty in Pink

Here is the card that I made for this week's sketch challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. It is fun to be able to use things that have been lying on my workspace for several weeks--the digital image (already cut out and colored) and the background paper.

CHF Challenge 5

It’s time for another CHF challenge today. Our hostess this week is Anne Harmon and she has chosen  “summer” as our theme. Yes, this is a favorite time of year for me. I am not fond of the very hot weather, but there are so many things that I love about this time of year.  I love the flowers and working in my gardens. I decided to do a very clean and simple card and spotlight the basket of flowers from the digital stamp called “Garden Chair”. You can find all the details about how to play along in the challenge at the Cornish Heritages Farm blog. We will all be looking forward to seeing your creation. You might even be the winner!

The design paper was purchased at Hobby Lobby. Large flower stamp is from Purple Daisy Designs. The greeting is from Our Daily Bread Designs. Punches are from EK Success and Martha Stewart.

Sketch Challenge # 392

This is the card that I designed for the SCS Sketch Challenge # 392. Once I got started, it was a fun sketch to work with. I used SU Rose Red card stock and a small piece of the matching SU designer paper. The stamps are from Gina K Designs stamp set -- Spring Mix. The flower stamp was colored with SU markers. Hope everyone is coping with the heat.

Technique--Sponging

The sponging technique fascinates me. I love how simple it is and yet so elegant. With just a little ink and some type of sponge, you can change the basic cardstock in just a matter of minutes. These two cards are a result of watching a video on StampTV and following the blog of Heather Telford. I used Memento Ink colors: Summer Sky, Bahama Blue, Danube Blue and Tuxedo Black.
On this card I used Hero Arts stamp--Exotic Bloom. I had to add the butterfly to cover up an ink spot from my finger.

For this card I used stamps from SU Fabulous Florets.

Today's Challenge--Create A Birthday Card

It’s time for a new challenge from Cornish Heritage Farms. The challenge this week is to create a birthday card and our hostess is Lisa Silver. I am always in the need of one more birthday card. For my card today I used the Cornish Heritage Farms birdhouse digital stamp and a greeting image. The image was colored with copic markers, matted on deep yellow card stock and then on Kraft Card stock. The card base is also the Kraft card stock. The designer paper is from Heidi Grace Designs and was sponged with Antique Linen Distress Ink.
Hope you will be able to play along with this challenge. For more details please visit the Cornish Heritage Farms blog, design your own card, and post a link to your card.

Stamp Club Meeting

Most of June was spent in Tennessee helping my brother and sister-in-law close up our parents home of 60+ years. It was a very emotional time for me. It is good to be back home.

On Thursday, June 28. a group of friends met at my house to learn "tea bag folding". Judie had put together supplies for each lady and did a great job teaching this art. It is always so much fun to learn something new with friends who also enjoy playing with paper. Here a couple of samples of what we did.
