Happy New Year

With this first post of 2018, I would like to wish each one a "Happy New Year". It seems like Parkinson's Disease is taking more and more of our time. My husband is needing more help with doing everyday activities. When I am under a lot of stress, I find it almost impossible to be creative. In the last week, I have made a few cards. I CASE'd a couple of cards and that seemed to help. I also have a class that will be meeting on Saturday. I think I know where I am going with that.

Now I would like to share my cards with you. Being a Stampin' Up demonstrator, I was able to preorder some of the new stamp sets from the new Occassions Catalog which went live On January 3.

I fell in love with the new set called "Hold On To Hope". This first card is one that I CASE'd. I used different colors and different designer series paper. Here is the original card. I found the designer series paper in my stash and it then became my inspiration for the other colors which are Stampin' Up So Saffron and Cajun Craze.

This next card just happened. I wanted to try the Stampin' Up embossing paste. I had also read that you could color the paste by adding ink to the plastic stencil before spreading the embossing paste. The card stock I used was SU Crumb Cake. I then added Soft Suede ink onto the stencil and then spread the embossing paste. Worked beautifully. I then wanted to try coloring the floral stamp with markers. Using my Misti, I colored the stamp in several steps. First Old Olive, next Marina Mist and lastly Rich Razzleberry. I then used the coordinating die to cut the image. I used Basic Black for the cross, Crumb Cake for the card base and Rich Razzleberry for the accent color.

This last card was also a CASE from Pinterest from here. It is a simple card but oh so pretty.
