SC538 -- Flower Patch Doodle

I have tried all day to do my card. It is now 11 o'clock p.m. I have it finished and am trying to get it posted before the day is over.

Stamps from these three Stampin' Up sets: Flower Patch, Bloom with Hope and Crazy About You.
Inks used: Rich Razzleberry, Pear Pizzazz and Pretty in Pink.
Papers: SU Rich Razzleberry, small piece of Pretty in Pink polka dots and white card stock
After stamping the flowers, I used a fine tip journaling marker to add details to each image. I saw a video on this technique by Connie Stewart called "ZenDoodle". Here is a link to her video. I am having lots of fun with it.

SC536--New Creature

Today's sketch was super simple and challenging at the same time. There are some beautiful cards that have been posted to the gallery at SCS.

The colors that I chose were SU Crushed Curry, So Saffron and Soft Suede. The ink was SU Soft Suede. The images were from a new set I recently got from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called "New Creature".

CAS320 -- Stencil It

"Stencil It" is the theme for today's CAS challenge at SCS. A couple of weeks ago I prepared a class on "Stencils -- Ways To Use Them". I made several images and cards demonstrating the use of stencils. None of the cards have been posted so I am going to use two of them for this week's challenge.

This sunburst stencil is from Tim Holtz. I have used it several times and love it. For both of my cards, I was trying to create a early morning feel. I used SU so saffron and crushed curry inks on this sunburst but I can't remember to name of the blue I used. The stamp for the sentiment is one from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps set "Be Encouraged".

This was an Easter card I was working on. The stamps were from the old Cornish Heritage Farms company which went out of business several years ago. The company re-opened under new owners but I don't think they ever brought back this stamp set. The tomb stamp was a line image. Since I wanted a solid image, I colored the image in with the darkest gray Copic marker I have. You can still see a little of the stamp details but I thought it added interest to the image.

This last card was listed in the "Favorites of the Week" ending April 19 at SCS.

PP239

This week's Paper Player challenge--

 My card for this challenge--

I had seen this layout on Pinterest a number of times and have wanted to try it for several weeks. I made the background paper some time ago using distress inks and then flicking water onto it to create the water spots. Of course, it was just waiting to be used. The black flower stem is a new Memory Box die called "Chandra Stem". The "hello" was also cut using a die from Cuttlebug. Now I wished I had used a stamp instead so that the hello would have been smaller. I think that would have made the flower stem and background stand out more.

Update:
This card was listed in "Favorites of the Week ending April 12" at SCS.

SC535 -- Just For You

Here is today's SCS sketch challenge and my card.

This was a fun sketch to work with. I first chose the DSP that I wanted to use and went from there. I loved how Midnight Muse, Gumball Green and Crumb Cake went together. The DSP is layered with Midnight Muse card stock. The focal image was made using Cougar Natural card stock, a JustRite stamp from the set "Fancy Frames", stamped in Gumball Green ink and cut with a Spellbinder's Label 18 die. The sentiment is from that same stamp set, stamped in Midnight Muse ink. To finish the focal image I added a flower from SU's Flower Shop set stamped in Midnight Muse with a center stamped in Crushed Curry ink and covered with glitter. The leaves were cut from Gumball Green card stock using a new Memory Box die

CAS319 --Make It Masculine

Today's CAS challenge was to make a card masculine. I am going to need some cards for a few fellows in my life in the near future so I went with a birthday card. I stayed with a very simple design.

The greeting comes from the SU "Sassy Salutations" set. I used a natural color card stock with SU Midnight Muse. Very simple.

Below is a picture of a card that I made in September, 2014, which never got posted. It is a similar layout yet different.

For My Friend

Our Wednesday morning, my husband was going to breakfast with his sister. Parkinson's Disease is making it more and more difficult for him to get around. So I was pleased that he was going to get to do something with someone else besides just me. I took advantage of my free time and asked a friend if she would like to go to a great scrapbooking store that is about 60 miles from Jackson. She was ready to go. We had a great time together.  I just wanted to send her a card letting her know how much her friendship means to me. This is the card I made this morning.

I have had this stamp set for a few weeks now but not used it. After coloring the image with Copic markers, this is the card I created. I found the designer paper and yellow card stock in my collection of papers. The greeting is from the SU set "Upsy Daisy" and cut out using one of the framelits from SU's Bitty Banners. I love the bright colors.

SC534 and PP238

My week continues to be filled with challenges and not all related to making cards. I finally finished the card I was working on for these two challenges. The first being the one from The Paper Players this past Sunday and the second was the sketch challenge at SCS on Wednesday.

I chose the first vertical column -- any shade of yellow, die-cut and flowers.

I chose to combine these two challenges for this card. I used SU So Saffron card stock for the card base and the flowers. The flower's edges were sponged with SU Crushed Curry. My new Memory Box Die was used to cut the leaves. The natural card stock was embossed using the new SU Spring Flowers folder. The sentiment was from the SU set called "Sheltering Tree".

CAS318 -- ABC with Spring Colors

This week's CAS challenge at SCS was a little different. It was "ABC (anything but a card) using spring colors". I knew what I wanted to do from the very start, but because of things beyond my control, I am just now getting my little gift posted. I first saw this idea on a video done by Connie Stewart at "Simply Simple Stamping". I made the sides of the bottom part of the box a little higher, but everything else is pretty much the same as her design. Here is the link to her video.

I made several of these little boxes and used them as little gifts for the gals in my stamp club and for favors at our family craft day on Saturday, March 28. The box measures 1 1/2 x 4 x 3/4 - inches and hold 3 miniature Reese's Peanut Butter cups.
