SC512 -- Marigold Inspiration

Back in September my husband had a doctor's appointment. It was one of those yearly check-in visits so that he could get a perscription renewed for CPAP supplies. I didn't go in with him; I was working on something in the car. After a while, I got out and was walking around. I came across the most beautiful marigolds I have ever seen (or at least that I remember). I didn't have my camera so I went back to the car and got my phone. My phone is about 8 years old and I don't get good pictures, but I tried. The yellow made the flowers glow in the sunshine. I wanted to try to create a flower that would remind me of the ones I saw. I don't have a flower stamp that really looks like a marigold, but I found one that I thought would work in the Stampin' Up set called "Peaceful Flowers". I colored my stamped image with copic markers.

This morning I saw the sketch challenge, plus I am in need of a birthday card. So I started to work on my card. The first picture is the one I took of the flowers. The second one is the sketch. The third picture is my card.

For the card base I used SU's Cajun Craze card stock. The other pieces were scraps that was on my cutting counter for another project that had not gotten moved. I hope my friend likes her birthday card.

CAS296 -- Halloween

This is my card for today's SplitCoast Stampers "clean and simple" challenge. There was a card that I found about a year ago on Pinterest that I was going to "CASE". This was a good day to do that. Here is a link to the original card that I found months ago. It is called "Happy Halloween Eyes". This is my version. The eyes are made using different size punches. I thought it was so cute.

CAS294 -- Fly Away

The challenge on October 13 was to "poke a hole in it". I recently purchased some new dies from Spellbinders that have a pierced insert that can be used with the cutting die. Love using them. That's how I made all the little holes. We were leaving for Tennessee the following day, my computer was in the shop and I just ran out of time. This was the card that I made.

SC510 and SC511

We returned to Michigan last night and late this afternoon I needed to make a couple of cards -- one for the sketch challenge that I missed last week and one for today's challenge.

First, this is the sketch for October 15. That day my husband and I were on our way to Tennessee.

For this sketch I chose a piece of paper from a 6 x 6-inch pad called Blossom Paper Pix by Paper House.

For the card base I chose SU So Saffron. After cutting the two layers I matted each with SU Rose Red. The stamp is from Our Daily Bread Designs set called "As You Graduate." As many of my friends struggle with health issues these words of Corrie ten Boom hold much encouragement.

Here is a picture of today's sketch.

A Christmas theme came to mind for this sketch. I used SU Real Red and white card stock. To add texture I used two of my favorite embossing folders on the white. The stamp is a new one that I got yesterday at a Hobby Lobby store in Indiana for less than two dollars. Love it!!!

SC509 -- My Wish For You

I have today's card completed for the sketch challenge at SCS.

For today's card, I used Stampin' Up's Crisp Cantalope card stock for the base of my card. Then I used SU designer series paper with black and Pool Party card stock for accents. The sentiment is from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamp set called "Sunshine and Flowers".

SC508 -- Hello

This has been and continues to be one busy week. But---- I had to stop long enough today to do a card for today's sketch challenge.

This is not what I started out to do, but it is what my card ended up as. The card base is SU calypso coral. The tree is from the SU set called "Thoughts and Prayers", a real classic set, and stamped twice in Memento Teal Zeal without reinking. The image is layered with SU Island Indigo. I tried using the Island Indigo ink pad and it just did not look right. The designer paper is from SEI which was a scrap from another project last week.
