I need of a get well card to send to my best friend's husband who is having surgery tomorrow. So I decided to use this sketch for my card. I really enjoyed working with the sketch.
I used some retired Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up that I purchased from the clearance rack. For the card base I used Island Indigo card stock and Marina Mist to mat the sentiment which was stamped in Calypso Coral ink. The orange was in my scrap box and is almost the same color as Calypso Coral which worked perfectly. The white border (on the left side) was cut from the reverse side of the designer paper. The butterfly was on my desk and filled the empty spot underneath the "Praying for you...". The sentiment is from the stamp set "Thoughts and Prayers" and the butterfly was from the stamp set "Papillon Porpourri".

CAS270--Stars, Stars, Stars
Today's Clean and Simple Challenge was to use stars. I don't have any stamps with stars. I don't have any dies that are stars. So I went to my Cricut and found these little banners with stars in the center. I cut them out at 1 1/2 inches, backed the banners with gold card stock, used the "Happy Birthday" embossing folder on white card stock, added some gray and white twine, and used a darker gray card stock for the card base. I will try this card again using brighter colors.

Flower Fancy Made New
I have a Stampin' Up stamp set that I purchased used several years ago. I don't think I ever used it until this week. Now I have made two cards with it and enjoyed using it so much. The first card was a CASE from a card that I found on Pinterest. I think that it was just the inspiration that I needed. The original card can be found here. For my card, I used Regal Rose and Certainly Celery markers to color the second part of the stamp. The Designer Series Paper was from my scrap box.
Now for today's sketch challenge at SCS.
I used the same stamp set, Fancy Flowers. This time SU's Raspberry Ripple was the color choice. The designer paper were scraps from last week's sketch challenge that had been cut on the diagonal. I used two other outline stamps from the same set to create the third layer.

Lavender Butterflies
For some reason today's CAS challenge took me all day. It was a color challenge so it should not have been that difficult. Using color is one of my favorite ways to create a card. We were given a picture that had six colors and were to use at least three of them on our card.
I sponged a piece of white card stock using Memento inks LuLu Lavender and Summer Sky. I found a scrap of lavender card stock that worked with the sponged piece. I used it to mat a small strip of white card stock and I also used it to stamp three butterflies using the Stampin Up's stamp set "Papillon Potourri" with Memento Grape Jelly ink. The greeting came from Stampin' Up's hostess set "Express Yourself" and was accented with an enamel dot from Recollections purchased at Michael's.
My prayer is that you will have a great week!

Spring Blossoms
This was a just for fun card. I have recently seen pictures of the cherry blossoms in Washington DC. I am looking forward to my flowering crab apple tree blooming along with the red bud and dogwood trees. This card is my version of a tree limb with blossoms.
I used two stamps from the SU stamp set "Gorgeous Grunge" to create the two background pieces. The remainder was created with dies and punches.

SC484
I just finished my card for today's sketch challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. When I went down to my craft room, I had no idea what I was going to make. I first made a sample, using scrap pieces of paper, so that I could get an idea of what size my pieces were going to be. I knew then where I wanted my focal image. I worked back from there. I am not sure if I ever made a card before using four stamp sets. They were -- SU Fabulous Florets, Petite Petals, Flower Shop and Express Yourself.

My Friend
A new week begins. There is talk of "snow" again. At least we had some nice weather over the week end. We grilled hamburgers on the grill Saturday night and sat on the deck and talked for a while on Sunday evening.
Today's CAS challenge was to case a card from Diane Cramer's gallery on Splitcoast Stampers website. I really enjoyed looking through her gallery. This is the card I chose to case.
Now, here is my card. I kept the same basic layout, used different colors and a differnt stamp (although it says the same thing). Except for the designer paper, I used pieces from my flash card stash.

End of the Week
The end of the week is almost here. It has been so nice to have weather that allows you to be outside some during the week. I love watching things come "alive" in the spring time.
I called my card "Sending Some Sunshine". The yellow made me think of the sunshine and the warmth of spring. The flower is made from the yellow polka dot designer paper and a stamp from Stampin' Up's Flower Shop set. Black makes a great accent color with any pastel and it worked perfectly with the yellow.
Now for my "card in a box". The first one never got past the assembly stage. I scored one of the lines incorrectly so it would not fold properly. The next one worked well and I was quite pleased with the way it turned out. Wednesday the idea of making one for a lady in our Parkinson's Support Group came to mind. Helen has been in a senior living home for several months now because she was no longer able to live by herself. I wanted to go see her, and when I went, I wanted to take her a card that I had made. This is the card that I took to her this afternoon. There are so many instructions on peoples blogs that I will not go into those details. These cards are really a lot of fun to make. They each turn out a little bit differently. I am looking forward to making another one in the near future.

CAS267--Primrose Petal Flower
Today's CAS challenge was to use "dry embossing" on our card. This is a favorite addition of mine. I love embossing folders and I use them often. This is my card.
May you be blessed today.
Dianne
Last night I was working on a project. There were some leftovers lying around my workspaces this morning. There was a quarter sheet of card stock (SU Primrose Petals), a flower made with SU's stamp set "Flower Shop" and some greenry and twigs. This is the end result. I used SU's embossing folder "Fancy Fan" which I just got. I punched the scalloped circle and the little center flower from the Primrose Petal card stock before adding the top embossed piece of white card stock. I didn't have any of the matching ribbon but I did have a piece of cardstock left that, when straightened, was 3/8" wide. I used a white gel pen to add the line down the middle. I think it worked well.
May you be blessed today.
Dianne

SC482
A few days late but I wanted to post my card for Wednesday's sketch challenge. I picked out all the papers right after breakfast on Wednesday but it took me all day to get my card made. I could not decide what went where. Oh my, how many decisions there are to making one card. I used SU Island Indigo card stock for the base. Also used SU Baja Breeze and Cajan Craze along with two designer series paper. The stamp was from the SU stamp set "Punch Bunch".

In Celebration of Spring
I just finished another set of cards using the "Blessed Easter" stamp by Stampin' Up. They are all similar but different. I used one piece of designer card stock for the front of all the cards, but each set of tulips is sightly different. All of the tulips were colored with Primsa color pencils and Gamsol. On three of the cards I used seam binding that I dyed using sprays that I made with So Saffron and Rose Red re-inkers.
