Love doing the Sketch Challenges at SCS. Today's sketch was so much fun! The heart stamp was from the dollar bin at Michael's. Great fine.

SC420

This is my card for today’s sketch challenge at Splitcoast Stampers. I had an idea in my head of what I wanted to do, but it didn’t turn out quite like I thought. Maybe I will try again. I used the SU Upsy Daisy stamp set, and Night of Navy and white card stock. All are favorites of mine. The greeting is from the Our Daily Bread Designs stamp set "Happy Birthday".

CASE

Today, I am posting three cards that I CASE'd from a card that I found on pinterest. There are so many beautiful cards. Here in a link to the original card. Now for the two cards I made using the original card as inspiration. Very simple!

"A Challenge" Challenge

This morning I looked again at the challenge at Joan's Garden. I thought that I would try to see what I could come up with. This one really challenged me. The challenge was to--

Create a card that:
Opens from the bottom (a Tent style card)
Use purple, aqua and light green for the colors
Use somethings from nature for the theme

Here is my card

I used a stamp from the Stampin' Up set "Of the Earth". I used markers to color the stamp so that I had a focal image that tied all the colors together. From there it was a matter of finding the right colors of card stock to complete the card. I followed the first sketch for the new year from Splitcoast Stamps--SC417. I am so proud that I actually finshed this challenge. When I started out, it would have been easy to quite.

A Word of Encouragement

I needed a card to send to a friend. Here is the card that I made. I love the verses from Our Daily Bread Designs. I get a new set whenever I have a chance.

The flower was made from a set of dies from La La Land Stamps. The leaves were cut from another die I got some months ago at a stamp show. With a little sponging, some shaping and stickles, the flower came to life. The Pretty-in-Pink card stock from SU was stamped using a background stamp from Impression Obsession and SU Rose Red ink. Love using these large background stamps.

SC419

Another Wednesday has arrived and another sketch challenge at SCS has been given. I have been trying to get a handle on "scraps". I was trying to put like colors in a pile. I found this little image that has hidden away in the scraps. After holding it for a few seconds, I realized there were lots of little purple pieces laying on the table. With a little looking and some thinking, I was able to get a card made for this week's challenge. The sketch was so much fun to work with.

The focal imagine was created with SU Sihouette Sentiments hostess stamp set. For the backgound paper I used a Sizzix embossing folder. Using a brayer I inked one side with Memento Sweet Plum ink and then embossed the paper. This technique really makes the embossing pop. I also used the Memento Sweet Plum ink to sponge around the edges of the lighter card stock.

Sketch Callenge 418 at SCS

Another Wednesday and another sketch challenge at Split Coast Stampers. This is my card for today's challenge. The stamp, from SU "Just Believe" set, was stamped with VersaMark ink and heat embossed in black then sponged with pastel yellow, pink and blue ink. I love this effect. Each stamped image turns out a little bit different.

This image is a little large for today's challenge but I think it still works. I wish now that I had embossed the birthday greeting. Next time--

First Challenge of 2013

We are already three days into the new year. I keep asking myself where all my "time" goes. Today I was finally able to work on Wednesday's sketch challenge from Split Coast Stampers. I used SU card stock---So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink and some retired SU designer paper.

I have a group of friends that come to my house each month to share ideas and to learn something new in paper crafting. This month I have given a color challenge to use these same colors. This will also be my card for that challenge.
