Thank You--Judie

My friend Judie has helped me out with two of my surgeries over the past few months that I have had to have on my nose after having a skin cancer removed. Because I was not able to drive myself after the surgeries and with my husband not driving in unfamiliar places due to his Parkinson's, Judie offered to go with us and be our driver. I wanted a special thank you card for her. After making the flower, I found all the other pieces in my "trial and error" box. I was pleased with the way the card turned out.

Gift Boxes for Chocolate Squares

This past week end I found the Spellbinders layered poinsettia dies at Micheals, and, of course, I just had to have them. With instructions and ideas from one of my favorite blogs, I had so much fun playing with the dies. I was needing some gifts for friends that I meet with for breakfast each week. I had gotten a variety of Ghirardelli Chocolate squares and  was trying to come up with a unique way of packaging them. I created a simple box that was just large enough to hold 8 chocolate squares. With the dies I made a small poinsettia to go on top and added a little bit of greenery using a die from Impression Obsession and a Martha Stewart punch. Tiny pearls were used to finish the flower.

My First Window Card

I just got this die a couple of weeks ago. These are my first two cards that I have just made with it. I have learned so much from reading the blog of Kittie Caracciolo called Kittie Kraft. She is so very talented and has created some wonderful tutorials. These cards represent things that I learned from her blog. I used SU's Lovely as a Tree stamp set to create the scene inside the window.

Mojo Challenge #270

My time for making cards has been rather limited these past few weeks. I have had several projects lying on my desk for some time, but I did want to get this posted. Thursday night some friends and I were making valentine cards to send to From Our Hearts. We made 116 cards that I am mailing to them on Monday morning. These cards will then be sent to the troops overseas.  This challenge fit right in with what I was doing. The sketch was so much fun to work with.

I love seeing everyone's cards. I am always amazed by the fact that we all start at the same point--with the same sketch and we all see it a different way. Each card is an inspiration to me.
